In a move to modernize and streamline the real estate process, Zillow has announced the launch of five innovative features during its Summer Launch 2025. These tools are designed to enhance the experiences of both homebuyers and renters, addressing common challenges such as understanding property details, affordability, and transparency in costs.
The newly introduced features focus on solving issues like affordability assessments, offer acceptance rates, property exploration, and transparent rental costs. Zillow emphasizes that these additions are based heavily on feedback gathered from real estate agents, aiming to meet their needs for a more efficient selling and buying process.
The development team at Zillow consulted with agents to identify the most pressing issues they face and requested suggestions on what they would change if given a “magic wand.” This collaborative approach led to the creation of several cutting-edge features tailored to improve listing presentation, coordination, and pricing strategies.
The standout addition is SkyTour, described as a first-of-its-kind drone-like view capability. It allows potential buyers to explore a property’s exterior from multiple angles directly through their phone or computer, providing a comprehensive visual understanding of a home’s layout and lot orientation. This feature is available on eligible Showcase listings that include drone footage secured through Zillow Media Experts’ premium package.
Tour Itineraries aims to help real estate agents organize multiple property visits smoothly. Homeowners can add various properties to a shared tour list, enabling better coordination of visit schedules, logistics, and timing with their agents. This reduces the need for back-and-forth communication, making the touring process more efficient for all parties.
The Offer Insights feature is now available nationwide after a soft launch. It provides buyers with critical information about their chances of having offers accepted by analyzing data such as the Zestimate, comparable home sales, and local market conditions. This tool supports more informed decision-making during negotiations.
Another new addition is BuyAbilitySM, a tool designed to match buyers with properties that suit their financial situation. It estimates prices and monthly payments based on buyers’ income, credit scores, debts, and savings. The enhanced version allows for comparisons across listings based on a target price and maximum budget, helping users better understand what they can afford. Since its introduction, over 1.5 million home shoppers have registered for the tool.
For renters, Zillow now offers detailed cost breakdowns on rental listings, including pet fees, deposits, and move-in costs. To address frustrations over hidden expenses, a new custom calculator has been added to help renters estimate overall costs effectively, providing a clearer picture of rental affordability and upfront expenses.
