This will be the largest oceanfront resort in the Dominican Republic, featuring two towers, a golf course, and sustainable design. Bookings will begin on September 1, 2025, for those eager to experience this new luxury resort.
Palace Resorts has announced the upcoming launch of Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana, scheduled to welcome guests in spring 2026. This significant addition to the Dominican Republic’s hospitality industry will be the largest oceanfront resort in the nation, built over a vast 297-acre beachfront property in the popular Bávaro area of Punta Cana.
The expansive resort will feature two 18-story towers alongside a central clubhouse, all of which have already reached structural completion. Construction efforts are currently concentrated on the interior spaces, mechanical systems, and multiple finishing details, paving the way for a luxurious experience. Upon completion, Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana will boast the highest number of oceanfront guest rooms in the Dominican Republic.
The design of the resort prioritizes sustainability through a vertical layout, which optimally preserves green spaces and minimizes environmental impact. A dedicated 400-meter mangrove protection zone is part of the site plan, ensuring that the natural ecosystem is respected and protected. Elevated pathways will facilitate convenient access between guest accommodations and the beachfront, enhancing the overall guest experience while minimizing disturbance to the surrounding environment.
Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana will introduce a diverse range of amenities, including various types of guest rooms, enticing dining venues, extensive entertainment facilities, and multiple pools. In a notable highlight, the resort will include a Greg Norman “eco-signature” golf course; however, the opening date for the golf course has yet to be disclosed. With a capacity to accommodate over 5,000 visitors daily, the resort will house 19 restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, ensuring a lively atmosphere for all guests.
This ambitious project represents a substantial investment of $1.5 billion, which is expected to generate approximately 5,700 direct jobs within the local economy. Recruitment for staff will commence three months prior to the resort’s opening, aligning with the goal of attracting the best talent to enhance the guest experience.
Furthermore, the development includes plans for Ciudad Palace, a community specifically designed for hospitality workers. This initiative will provide 1,800 apartments as well as schools and parks, addressing local housing challenges and contributing positively to the community dynamics.
The resort has ambitious sustainability targets, aiming to operate entirely on renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, starting in 2027. This commitment further solidifies Palace Resorts’ dedication to responsible tourism and environmental stewardship within the region.
Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana will mark the first Palace Resorts property in the Dominican Republic. The company, which is well-regarded for its portfolio of luxury all-inclusive resorts, currently operates ten properties in Mexico, including the renowned Moon Palace Cancun and Moon Palace Jamaica in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
For those interested in experiencing the resort, specific bookings will open on September 1, 2025, allowing guests to plan ahead for this unprecedented addition to the Dominican Republic’s hospitality offerings.
