In the first incident, a 25-year-old man was hospitalized early Friday morning following a shooting around 8:40 a.m. in the 300 block of Saint Paul Street. Critical Injury at Masjid Ul Haqq Mosque

Earlier that week, on Wednesday afternoon, another significant violence incident occurred at the Masjid Ul Haqq mosque on Islamic Way near Druid Hill Avenue. A 49-year-old male was critically injured in a shooting while on his way to prayer just after 3 p.m. Witnesses reported that a dispute led to the gunfire moments after two men, who had been praying inside the mosque, left together.

Members of the mosque expressed shock and devastation over the violence that erupted within their sacred space. Law enforcement has taken a person of interest into custody and also recovered several weapons from a vehicle associated with the suspect. In addition, surveillance footage from outside the mosque has been collected to assist in the ongoing investigation.
