Baltimore – A shooting near Forest Park High School on the evening of September 19, 2025, has left a 19-year-old male injured, but police have not yet made any arrests in connection to the incident. The shooting occurred shortly after a football game between Forest Park and Dunbar, while the players and spectators were dispersing from the event.

The gunfire erupted at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Eldorado Avenue in Northwest Baltimore, just off the high school campus. According to reports, the incident did not involve any students or staff from either school, as confirmed by Principal Ninia Mouzone in a letter to the school community.

Witness Garfield Adams, a nearby resident, reported hearing multiple gunshots that he compared to the sound of military fire. He estimated that he heard between 10 and 20 shots, describing the noise as reminiscent of a war zone similar to his experiences during service in Iraq. The immediate area was busy with children as the shooting occurred, prompting responses from both school security and the police.

Police confirmed that the 19-year-old victim was found bleeding heavily with gunshot wounds to the leg not far from Liberty Heights Avenue. Responding officers undertook a search for four masked suspects who reportedly fled the scene in a tan vehicle.

Despite the chaos of the incident, Principal Mouzone reassured the school community that no students or staff were harmed. She acknowledged the unsettling nature of such violence occurring so close to the school and indicated that the institution would work in collaboration with police to assess safety and communication protocols moving forward.

On a broader context, Baltimore has seen a significant reduction in violent crime this year. Homicides have decreased by nearly 30% compared to the same time last year, with 96 reported homicides to date in 2025, down from 137 in 2024. Additionally, nonfatal shootings have also declined by over 20%, with 233 individuals shot but surviving this year, compared to 294 in the previous year.

Police are currently seeking information regarding the recent shooting. They have encouraged anyone with relevant details to contact Northwest District Shooting detectives at 410-396-2466. Individuals who wish to remain anonymous can also provide tips through the Metro Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-866-7LOCKUP or submit information online.
